Let Me Live
11-26-1997
I was going to some mall or something with Scott and the gang back home. I got a ride with Scott and Nick, and his girlfriend and some other girl took another car. We got there and went to some fast food place. We were all getting JOBS. I was the first one to don the chef's hat while some bitchy manager tried to show me how to pour these pancake-like things in a way that I thought was stupid anyway. I'm like, "Why are you putting two on at once? They overlap. Don't you want them to be round?" and she's like, "Yeah, watch," but I didn't watch.
Turns out since I couldn't do it HER way, I might as well not have done it at all, so I left. I think I held out the longest, cuz all my friends had left, too. We'd come in so many cars (more than two, actually, contrary to the beginning of the dream) that I got left alone. I paged Scott, leaving the number as 1-800-THE-MALL somehow, and he came to pick my up. Jeremy showed up out of nowhere and decided to drive. He was driving like a maniac, driving on the wrong side of the road and speeding over this hill that sent us squealing in circles, going the wrong direction out of control, all that. It was in slow motion, and the entire time I was just thinking to myself, "Let me live, let me live, let me live." The car flipped over, and I saw Pam kinda give me this look like, "What an idiot."
There was a barbecue somewhere. At the mall I'd seen a bunch of new "Rifts" books and stuff, and somewhere during the barbecue, I'd begun to live them. Next thing I knew, my SISTER (with her suit of power armor and shit) and I were in some kind of swamp, being stalked by some swamp creatures. Hmm...don't remember much...ended up in space...
At some point learned a code you could punch in while playing Space Ace that would cut out all the sound except for the music. So I played that without the music for a bit, except it had extra stuff, like an owl that flew around and talked a LOT, except the sound was off. Heh. Had a lot of new parts never seen in the game before...like lost footage. The music wasn't even Space Ace music, either, but instead something my mind made up during the dream.
