The Sun Got Me
circa 1993

Noone knew I was a vampire until the sun started rising that day. Then suddenly all my friends tried to hose me down with a water hose to kill me! I ran away down the street, ducked into some alcove of sorts to find a nice dark place on a stone shelf...like a stone wall on the edge of the sea at night, only there wasn't water below, but molten lava. I stood on the edge, then saw the guy I shall call Brad. I didn't trust him, though everyone in this place was a vampire. I ran out, jumping gracefully along some cobblestones to outside. It was night out. Someone was chasing me....an unseen presence. I ran frantically all around the place, jumping fences and hiding under bushes. Whatever this thing was, it never found me. However, I somehow learned that even my family was against me. But I ran home anyway, which was still the same house in the same place, but it was placed on the edge of the sea. I opened a sliding door to the basement (a new addition, heh) to see it empty as always, the only things down there the cement floor, the heater, and the stairs. There was also a ragged-looking man down there. I decided I needed pants, so I vampirically embraced him, sucked his blood, and dropped him to the floor. I slipped on his red corduroy (sp?) pants. I thought twice about going upstairs and instead ran back outside and hid under the deck. It was close to sunrise by this time. I heard and "saw" my dad and a younger version (toddler) of my sister above on the deck and in the house, watching the sun come up. I was afraid that a dog was going to find me and reveal me. So I either turned into a dog myself and ran about or the sun got me and I died...can't be sure.
